- Have a Monero wallet ready (Cake Wallet, Feather or the official Monero GUI) and copy a receiving address.
- Pick your coin and XMR on NoxSwap, enter the amount and paste your address. The rate is fixed and the network and service fees are already in the quote.
- Send the exact amount to the deposit address before the countdown ends.
- Wait about 20 minutes after your XMR arrives: Monero needs 10 confirmations before it can be spent.
- No account, email or ID for standard swaps, but large or flagged swaps can get an AML check from the exchange that executes them.
With Binance, OKX and (in Europe and Canada) Kraken no longer offering Monero, most people now get XMR by swapping a coin they already hold. Instant swap services make that a two-minute job without opening an exchange account. This guide walks through one of the newer options, NoxSwap, step by step, and covers the details worth knowing before you send anything.

What NoxSwap is
NoxSwap is an instant swap service that launched in 2026. You choose the coin you send and the coin you receive, and the swap is executed through partner exchanges, with the payout sent straight to your own wallet. NoxSwap says it never holds your coins along the way.
Key points, as of November 2026:
| Coins | 500+ coins and networks, 280,000+ pairs, including BTC, ETH, SOL, USDT and XMR |
|---|---|
| Direction | Both ways: any coin to XMR, and XMR to any coin |
| Rate | Fixed: the amount shown is the amount you receive, locked for a limited time (countdown on the deposit page) |
| Fees | Network fee and service fee included in the quote, no separate spread |
| Account | None: no sign-up, no email |
| KYC | None for standard swaps; large or flagged swaps can get an AML check from the executing exchange |
| XMR limits | Minimum 0.078 XMR, maximum 800 XMR per swap when sending XMR |
| Extras | Tor mirror (http://noxswap46e5kyuum33rcv4vno2icnkkpzw4bgbbgg5cedxwfztl27mqd.onion), listed in a PGP-signed mirrors.txt; the whole swap works without JavaScript; a PGP-signed guarantee letter for each order; 10 languages; human support by email |
Step-by-step: swapping BTC (or any coin) to XMR
1. Get a Monero address. Open your wallet and copy a receiving address. Primary addresses start with 4 and subaddresses with 8; both work, and no payment ID is needed. Using a fresh subaddress for each swap is a good habit.
2. Set up the swap. On NoxSwap's Monero page, choose the coin you're sending and XMR as the coin you receive, then enter the amount. The quote you see already includes fees, so that number is what lands in your wallet.

3. Paste your address and check it. Compare the first and last few characters with your wallet. Clipboard-swapping malware is rare but real, and this is the one step where a mistake can't be undone.
4. Send the exact amount before the timer runs out. The fixed rate is locked for a limited time. Send the exact amount shown, from a wallet you control, to the deposit address. Sending from an exchange account can delay things, because some exchanges batch withdrawals. Exchanges and some wallets also take their withdrawal fee off the amount you send. If less than the quoted amount arrives, NoxSwap recalculates the payout at the current rate, so send from a wallet where you control the exact amount.
5. Wait for confirmations. NoxSwap waits for your deposit to confirm on its own chain (Bitcoin can take 10 to 60 minutes) before executing. In a test swap published by the directory BitList on 2 November 2026, 210 USDC to BTC completed in about four minutes.
6. Let your XMR unlock. Once the payout arrives, Monero locks it for 10 confirmations, about 20 minutes. A "locked" balance at this stage is normal.
Going the other way, from XMR to another coin, works the same: you send XMR, NoxSwap waits for its confirmations (again about 20 minutes), then pays out the other coin.
Fixed rate vs floating rate: why it matters
Most swap services offer a floating rate, where the final amount depends on the market when your deposit confirms, and the service's spread is built in. A fixed rate removes that guesswork: you know the exact amount before you send. The trade-off is the countdown. If your deposit arrives late, the quote can expire, so send promptly and don't use a slow, low-fee Bitcoin transaction for a fixed-rate swap.
About KYC and AML checks
No swap service can promise that a check will never happen, and it's worth knowing how it works before you use any of them. Standard NoxSwap swaps need no account, email or ID. Large or flagged swaps can get an AML check from the partner exchange executing the swap. If you decline a check, your deposit is refunded. To reduce the odds of a hold:
- Send from your own wallet, not straight from an exchange or a mixer
- Split very large amounts into reasonable chunks
- Keep your order ID and the PGP-signed guarantee letter until the swap is complete
Always follow the laws where you live.
Is it trustworthy?
NoxSwap is new, so it has a short track record. On the plus side, it publishes its mirrors and a guarantee letter for each order, signed with PGP, so you can verify you're on the real site and holding a genuine receipt. It also listed itself openly on independent directories, including BitList, which ran and published a test swap: the payout matched the quote, the PGP-signed guarantee letter verified and the AML-risk result was low. If you use Tor, the official onion address is http://noxswap46e5kyuum33rcv4vno2icnkkpzw4bgbbgg5cedxwfztl27mqd.onion (check it against the signed noxswap.io/mirrors.txt), and the swap works in Tor Browser on its Safest setting. As with any new service, start with a small swap to see how it works for you.
You can find NoxSwap alongside other swap services in Exchanges & Swaps on Monero Friendly.
Questions people ask
Do I need an account to swap to Monero on NoxSwap?
No. Standard swaps need no account, email or ID. You only provide the receiving address for your XMR.
What is the minimum and maximum for swapping XMR?
When sending XMR, the minimum is 0.078 XMR and the maximum is 800 XMR per swap. Minimums for other coins are shown in the swap form (for example, 0.00064 BTC when sending Bitcoin).
Are there hidden fees?
NoxSwap says its quotes include both the network fee and its service fee, so the amount shown is the amount you receive.
How long does a swap to XMR take?
It depends on the coin you send. Expect the time for your deposit to confirm, then a few minutes for the swap, then about 20 minutes for Monero's 10 confirmations before your XMR is spendable.
Can a swap still be held for an AML check?
Yes. Large or flagged swaps can be checked by the exchange that executes them. If you decline the check, your deposit is refunded.
